Baby on Board!

Well, it's official! Baby will make three for this happy Hyman family. Technically, if you count our rambunctious, out of control dogs, baby will make 5.. and that thought alone makes me crazy!

I can't even believe it. I almost still don't, but the two pregnancy tests I took in the Albertson's bathroom tell me differently! J and I are sort of in a whirlwind of telling family members and yayas, and trying to convince ourselves all at once. My parents were in shock, my sister nearly wet her pants with excitement, and grandparents are already buying presents and offering to babysit! It seems that everyone around us is so overjoyed, while we are still trying to process everything. We are trying to refigure our budget, and tackle the massive laundry list we have created for ourselves of things to do before baby gets here.

I think it's fascinating to read about the growth of the baby, and see the changes that are going to be taking place in my body. Right now, baby is the size of my thumb. That is unfathomable to me! So far I have discovered that 'morning sickness' is a myth, and that "24/7-all-day-no-matter-if-you-are-at-home-or-in-public-sickness" is the more accurate term. On the good side, this constant sickness has enabled me to start carrying around a sleeve of saltines at all times, so that has for sure upped my "cool factor." I mean, who doesn't dream of carrying crackers with them at all times? Jealousy will get you nowhere. I also know that I am somewhere in the vicinity of 10 and 1/2 weeks along. Baby is estimated to make the big debut around the end of September. (Come on, 26th! A baby would be an awesome birthday present!) Of course, I won't be completely sure until after my first doctor appointment, which is Wednesday, but I will be sure to keep the updates coming!
